THE LIFE OF THE WOMAN HEATHER
One sunny day, a woman walks down to Washington Square. She has long dark
hair, a slim body and a lot of freckles on her face. People call her Heather.
The woman often wears grey, so the people thinks she is a poor woman. But
they’re wrong. Heather has lost the ability to enjoy her life.
As usual she goes to work in the kindergarden. She thinks about a lot of
things on her way, like her husband and her illness. The kids in the kindergarden
know she has problems and they try to support her in their own way. But
some days she is very sad and wants to give up. Her husband doesn’t support
her. They are divorced.
It’s difficult to handle her illness. Heather is often tired, because
she has cancer. Some days she wants to throw away her life and give up,
but then she goes to work and sees the children’s faces and that’s why she
forgets all her problems. The children help her to live with the illness.
Heather loves children, although she has no children on her own. Her husband
didn’t want to have children, he always said: “Kids are crazy!” He always went his own way.
When Heather reaches the kindergarden, the children run towards her. She
gets a big smile on her face. She instinctively knows on this day something
special will happen.
Heather plays with the kids. Suddenly there comes a girl. She has red curls
and a lot of freckles in her face, like Heather. Both look at each other.
Heather sees the girl has something in her hand. The girl gives it to her,
smiles and runs away.
Heather feels something soft and silky in her hand. She loves this feeling,
because it’s so warm. Heather opens her hand and sees a scarf, a colourful
scarf green, yellow, red and a nice shining blue. Heather puts the
scarf around her neck and looks in a mirror. Her grey clothes begin to shine.
She loves these colours. The kids stand behind her and smile with her.
After her work, she goes home in a good mood.
Soon, the cancer was turn, become worse, and Heather will go to the hospital.
The kids will visit her every day and the shiny coloured scarf will be always
by her side. The children will support her fight against the cancer. With
support and a iron will she will win the fight. She will live to become
a happy and self-confident person. Colourful and bright.
